A perfect movie ending.

Since I'm a complete nut-case and enjoy weird things (let's be honest), I enjoy movies that are known for their dark story line, weird moments and shocking endings. As some of you may know, I aspire to be a writer, maybe one day I'll write a movie myself. I kind of already have an idea. Maybe four friends go on a road trip, one of them becomes addicted to drugs, the other gets pregnant and gives birth on a farm, the other sleeps with her best friend's dad and the last one becomes a serial killer. Oh yeah and in the end, everyone dies, excepts the serial killer, who then goes on to live happily ever after. Not many people like to watch the bad person win these days, but I do. 

I will then go on to tell you about one of my favourite movie endings. Take a look at the picture above, this, as many of you SHOULD know, is from the movie American Beauty. Look away now if you do not want to know the ending of this movie.

Basically after going trough a mental mid-life crisis which entailed gaining an inappropriate crush on his daughters best friend, (his daughter who actually hates him). His wife also has an affair, happy days right? But in the end, he gains a life lesson and ends up being the only person who is happy at the end of the movie, which is ironic, because he dies. Yes that's right, as you may know, his secretly homosexual neighbour (Chris Cooper) makes a move on him, of which Kevin Spacey rejects, and well, I guess Mr Cooper just didn't want Mr Spacey spilling his secret, so he shoots him. 

So basically, the last few shots of the movie, show Kevin Spacey's wife crying in the rain at the ruins of her life, his daughter and her boyfriend stood in shock at the sight of Spacey's bloody corpse. And then the very naughty Chris Cooper walking back home wearing his blood soaked shirt. 

But I just cannot forget the beautiful sight of Kevin Spacey laid in a pool of his own blood with a slight smile on his face. Happy. 

What an ending!
